I am ashamed.
Of my political system. Of my nation. In some cases, of my family.
We have elected a bigoted, xenophobic, homophobic, ableist ignoramus. We should all be ashamed. And yet I see celebrating on Facebook.
The 1950s called. It wants us back. And we listened.
I'd say God help us all, but God had nothing to do with this.

I am struggling to find any way to deal with this, and I just found this: we are a nation divided. He and his followers threatened to not allow democracy to work, to violently resist.
ReplyDeleteSo, they won. And we will resist but we will do so peaceably. We won't lead to the civil war that Trump was basically threatening.
We have a lot of work to do. I'm shifting my life priorities. But the stand that we'll take is one within our system. We are losers who go high.
Fingers crossed that's enough.
